Getting back on track!

With the excitement of having a new baby I have neglected to mention a few key things that have been happening over the past few weeks, allow me to correct my negligence!

At the end of August Helen treated me and Lindsey to a trip to the theatre! We went and saw 'Wicked'... it was FANTASTIC! If you get the chance to see it you really have to go. I've been lucky to see quite a few different theatre musicals, Phantom of the Opera, Les Miserables, Dr Dolittle, The Lion King and I've loved everyone. However this one just had me rolling around with laughter! Really, you've got to go and see it.
This past weekend Ryan and I decided to go and spend the weekend at his parents. They only live a half an hour drive from us but by staying over we save on petrol and get to enjoy the many luxuries at their house for longer, i.e. the food, the hot tub. Yes I said it, the hot tub! Ryan's parents just bought one and Helen has built this fabulous private deck so you can enjoy the hot tub even in the middle of winter. We're so excited to be able to say in the middle of winter that we sat in the hot tub watching the snow fall! That is not the only new toy they have right now. Bob just got a SLR camera and we had fun this weekend seeing some of what it could do with Paige acting as the model. Those cameras are aMazing I tell you!

On Saturday night we invited Kate and Lindsey over to enjoy the hot tub and we had a girlie night while the men were away at a church event. It was so much fun! I'm lucky to have been able to spend time with my girlie friends at different points over the summer and they have taught me many important things, like what granola is. Before you think 'duh!' I must explain, I am a porridge girl and I had always thought of granola in the sense of those bars with chocolate chips that make a tasty snack. One Saturday we were going to spend the day in the Gatineau Hills at Meech lake (it was a very HOT day) and I was on the phone with Kate as we were trying to decide what food we wanted for out picnic...

Me: I have granola that your mum made, I can bring that.
Kate: (Pause) Well... ok, but don't you need to bring milk then?
Me: Milk? I thought you just ate it as is.
Kate: No! You add milk to it.
Me: Well that explains why it tasted so dry then!

I LOVE the hot tub...did Auntie Helen really build that deck? I read that and honestly, it wouldn't surprise me. You've got great in-laws! Auntie Helen has been soooo good to me - my entire life! Now, she's good to my children. Love love love her!
